Ermarie Pearl Loocke, 92 of Wharton, joined our Lord on April 8, 2012 after an extended illness. She was born March 25, 1920 to the late Edmund and Ola Dreher Persky in Sharp, Milam County, Texas. She graduated from Wharton High School in 1937, went to business school, and worked at the Wharton County Courthouse for a brief period of time. She married her high school prom date, Lawrence Edward Loocke on May 31, 1940, in Victoria, Texas. Together, they raised their four children in Magnet, Texas and enjoyed 66 years of married life. She was a strong believer in family and in staying connected, joining both Lawrence’s and her family together. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who made each grandchild feel as if he or she were her favorite. She was never idle; she had been active in the Lane City Methodist Church and later in the First United Church of Wharton. She loved to cook, can food, play dominoes, garden, sew, and read. She spent over fifty years researching and recording family history. Ermarie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; her son, Larry Loocke; her brother, William Elton Persky; and her sister, Opal Piercy. She is survived by her brother, Preston Persky and longtime companion, Frances Hall of Prescott, Arizona; her sister, Berniedean Blackmor of Houston; her daughter Carolyn and husband Gilbert Livanec of Manvel; her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Loocke of Katy; her son, William Loocke and wife, Patricia of Wharton; her son, Donald Loocke and wife, Elizabeth of Katy; her grandchildren, Bert Livanec of Gallatin, Tennessee; Scott and wife,Martha Livanec of Galveston; Dawn Bunting of Katy, Kelly and husband, Todd Sanders of Katy; Larry and wife, Ashley Loocke of Katy; Bryan and wife, Blair Loocke of Houston; Kimberly Loocke and fiancee, Robin Reines of San Francisco; Lindsay Loocke of Houston, Stacey and husband, Brent Moses of Fulshear; Christopher and wife, Misty Loocke of Katy; and Matthew Loocke of Katy. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Mary Louise, Mac, and Caroline Livanec of Galveston; Peyton, Presley, and Paige Bunting of Katy; Cole and Cash Sanders of Katy; Lacey and Jackson Loocke of Katy; Mary Allen Loocke of Houston; Alyssa Moses of Fulshear, and Quinn Loocke of Katy. Pallbearers are her six grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Czech Catholic Home. Special thanks to Dr. Winston and staff. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 10 at 5:00 for the family and 6:00-8:00 pm for the public at the Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services are Wednesday, April 11 at 11:00a.m. at the Wharton Funeral Home with Reverend Don Storey officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
