Mr. Antonio Muniez, age 70 of Boling died Monday, October 22, 2012 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 1, 1942 in Wharton, a son of the late Edwardo and Antonia Garcia Muniez. Mr. Muniez was a longtime resident of Wharton County. He attended school in Wharton. Antonio served his country in the United States Army, earning his Honorable Discharge. He married Martina Rodriguez on December 8, 1961 in Wharton. He worked in the construction industry for many years. Antonio enjoyed watching cowboy movies, and loved meeting his friends for coffee in Boling. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. A Visitation was held starting at 8 am prior to the services. Survivors include his wife, Martina Muniez of Boling; daughters, Anita Reyes and husband, Joe of Boling and Patsy Caldera and husband Gerardo of boling, sons, Antonio Muniez Jr., and wife, Michelle of Bellville, John Muniez of Boling and Joe Muniez and wife, Amy of El Campo, sisters, Pat Wheat and husband John, Lola Mendoza, and Maria Gasca, brothers, Bill Diaz, Rosindo Diaz, John Diaz and Francisco Diaz, 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Tony Muniez, John Muniez, Joe Muniez, Joe Reyes, Gerardo Caldera.
