Mrs. Allie Odean Reynolds, age 85 of Wharton and formerly of Mississippi, died early Tuesday morning, October 23, 2012 in a Wharton nursing home following an extended illness. She was born on May 29, 1927 in Calhoun City, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Gilbert Estes Higginbotham and Lilly Idella Andrews Higginbotham. Mrs. Reynolds was raised in the Schlater, Ms area and attended school there. She married Henry Raymond Reynolds on August 26, 1944 in Greenwood, Ms. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2003. Odean was a seamstress all her life. She worked for the Ruleville Manufacturing Company, sewing jackets and garments. She also had a business out of her house, keeping the cheerleaders and other youth groups properly attired for many years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, T.C., Aubrey and Billy Higginbotham. Following Cremation, memorial services were held on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at Caney Creek Church with Mr. Mickey Reynolds officiating. Interment services were held on Friday October 26 at Ruleville Baptist Church in Ruleville, Mississippi. Survivors include her daughters, Carol Ann Reynolds of Gulfport, MS, Leslie Joan Reynolds Horta and husband, Rudy of Wharton, sons, Henry Raymond Reynolds, Jr. and wife, Joyce of Oceansprings, MS and Mickey Donald Reynolds and wife, Vicki of Wharton, 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
