Denise Yvonne Ferrel

Denise Ferrel Ms. Denise Yvonne Ferrel, age 24, of Wharton died Friday, November 16, 2012 at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston following a brief illness. She was born on June 9, 1988 in Wharton the daughter of Bernardino M. Ferrel and Mary Sue Pena Ferrel. Ms. Ferrel was a life-long resident of Wharton and a member of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton. She graduated from Wharton High School in 2008. Her favorite hobbies included reading, drawing, singing, dancing and texting her family and friends. A rosary was recited at 7:00 pm Monday evening at the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home and a Funeral Mass was held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Mt. Carmel Catholic church in Wharton with Father Gabriel Espinosa officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include her mother, Mary Sue Ferrel and her father, Bennie Ferrel both of Wharton; sisters, Helen Padilla & husband Rudy of Van Vleck, TX, Joanne Munoz of Needville and Patricia Ferrel of Brenham. Brothers, Michael Ferrel & wife Nancy of Rosenberg, Michael Sosa of Houston, Bennie Ferrel, Jr. of Wharton, Robert Sosa of Stuttgart, Germany and Russell Sosa of New Orleans, LA. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins also survive. Pallbearers were; Robert Sosa, Michael Sosa, Michael Ferrel, Bennie Ferrel, Jr., Russell Sosa and John Blackman. In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests memorials to the M. D. Anderson Cancer Research Center in Houston, TX. Funeral Services were under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
