Mary Elizabeth Thurmond

Mary Elizabeth Thurmond Mary Elizabeth Thurmond, age 74 of Katy and formerly of Wharton died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at a Houston hospital following a sudden illness. She was born on January 11, 1938 in Wharton, Texas a daughter of the late Virgil and Wilma Elizabeth Sherrill Thurmond. Mary attended Wharton schools. She enjoyed reading her audio books and being with her mother. Mary was an avid member of Abundant Life Christian Church in Wharton for many years. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Survivors include her sister, Wanda Matlock and husband Charlie of Katy, niece, Sherry Licata of Houston, great neices, Courtney Hill and Dyan Licata and great great nephew, Maddox Prentice.
