Frances Gutierrez Sandoval, age 55, of Wharton, died on Wednesday morning, December 12, 2012 in a Houston hospice facility following a courageous battle with Leukemia. She was born on March 9, 1957 in Wallis, TX a daughter of the late Jesus and Guadalupe Trevino Gutierrez. Frances has been a longtime resident of Wharton. She married Juan Sandoval on June 15, 1972 in Wharton. Frances worked for Millcreek Apartments as a make ready specialist for many years. She enjoyed cooking, dancing and playing volleyball and sports with her daughters. She attended Peace Tabernacle in Wharton for many years. Following cremation, memorial services will be held (TODAY) Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 11am at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Fisher officiating. Survivors include her husband, Juan Sandoval of Wharton, daughters, Lisa Araguz and husband, John of Wharton, Kim Sanchez and husband, John of Rosenberg, Stephanie Garza and husband, Valentin of Wharton and Mary Beth Sandoval of Wharton, sisters, Carmen Alvarez, Anita Ramirez, Margie Bustamante, Josie Delarosa, Janie Jimenez, and Virginia Rodriguez, brothers, Pedro, Jesse, Alfred and Raymond Gutierrez, grandchildren, Jonathan Araguz, Jazmine Araguz, Shawn Khowaja, Shayan Khowaja, Valentin A. Garza, Jr., Brittney Vasquez, Jacob Vasquez and Alexander Juan Sandoval along with step grandchildren, John Sanchez Jr., Michael Sanchez, Stephanie Sanchez, Christopher Sanchez, Jacob Sanchez, Deeanna Sanchez and Christina Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Araguz, John Sanchez, Valentin Garza, Jonathan Araguz, Shawn Khowaja, Shayan Khowaja, John Sanchez Jr., Michael Sanchez, Christopher Sanchez and Jacob Sanchez.
