Jesse Cruz Ramirez

Jesse Cruz Ramirez, age 76, of Boling died Monday, December 17, 2012 in a Stafford, Texas hospital following an extended illness. He was born on December 24, 1935 in Newgulf, Texas, a son of the late Cruz and Martha Soto Ramirez. Jesse was raised in the Newgulf area where he attended school. On November 3, 1962, he married Senaida Rodriguez in Wharton. Jesse worked for Texasgulf for over 14 years, and later worked for Wal-Mart. He enjoyed family get-togethers and spending time with his wife. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Rosemary Rodriguez-Acosta; son-in-law, Arthur (Tudy) Rodriguez, Sr.; sister, Mary Garza; brothers: Luis, Simon, and Cruz Ramirez, Jr.; and grandchildren, Arthur (Mijo) Rodriguez, Jr., and Andrew Vincent Rodriguez. Jesse attended church services at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton. A Rosary was held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012, at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home and funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2012 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Wharton with Father Gabriel Espinosa officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include his wife, Senaida Rodriguez; daughter, Diana Ramirez and fiancé Shawn Williams of Boling; sons, Jesse (Junie) Cruz Ramirez, Jr. and wife, Donna of Needville, and Anthony Ramirez and wife, Melisa of Rosenberg; sister, Lucille Hernandez of Boling; and brother, Lucio Ramirez of Lake Jackson. Also surviving are grandchildren: Mark Rodriguez; Veronica Rodriguez; Amanda Acosta; Jesse (J.J.) Ramirez III; Jeremy Ramirez; John Ramirez; Ashley Ramirez; Matthew Ramirez, Andrew Ramirez; Erica Steen; and Jacob Steen, and numerous cousins and friends. Pallbearers were Jesse Cruz Ramirez, Jr.; Anthony Ramirez; Jesse Cruz Ramirez III; Matthew Ramirez; David Ramirez; and Luis Buentello.
