Marion Bradley Cloud, III

November 12, 1950 — January 13, 2013

Marion Bradley “Brad” Cloud, III, age 62 of Houston, and formerly of Wharton, died Sunday, January 13, 2013, at a Houston hospital following a sudden illness. He was born on November 12, 1950, in Wharton, Texas the son of the late Marion Banker Cloud Jr., and Dorothy Lea Ellis Cloud. Brad was raised in the Boling area and graduated from Boling High School. He later attended and graduated from WCJC and Texas A&M University, receiving his Bachelors Degree in Business. He married Lynda Brown on August 18, 1978 in Texas City. Brad worked for American National Insurance for many years before moving into school administration in 1992. He was Director of Transportation for many school districts including, Waller, Willis, Brazosport, Needville and Wharton. He enjoyed sailing, camping, antiques and antiquing. Being a Texas Aggie, Brad relished anything associated with Texas A&M. He was Baptist by faith. Visitation will begin at 5pm Wednesday evening at Wharton Funeral Home with funeral services to be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton with Rev. Nan Doerr officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include his wife, Lynda Cloud of Texas City, daughter, Lanie Sanders and husband, Jason of Bay City, son, Matthew Bradley Cloud and wife, Diana of Houston, grandchildren, Mason Wesley Sanders and Aidan Alan Cloud, sister, Karen Devoy and Lyle Burns, niece, Denise Stewart and husband, Chris and their daughter, Ella and nephew, Josh Wigley and wife, Mili and their son, Joshua. Numerous friends and other relatives also survive. Pallbearers will be Josh Wigley, Jason Sanders, Jeff Schall, Scott Koenig, Michael Gasser, and Jose Partida, with Joshua Wigley serving as honorary pallbearer. In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests memorials to the American Heart Association, PO Box 15186, Austin, Texas 78761.
