Lawrence G. Eldridge Mr. Lawrence George (Larry) Eldridge, age 65 of Dallas, TX died Monday, January 14, 2013 in Dallas following a sudden illness. He was born on August 7, 1947 in Caripito, Venezuela, the son of the late Lawrence Miller Eldridge, Jr. and Loree Silvia Price Eldridge. On May 24, 1975, he married the love of his life, Jacqueline Monique Berube , in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunt and uncles, and was of the Christian faith. Larry has been a long-time resident of Dallas, TX and LaRonge, Saskatchewan, Canada. His love of problem-solving and people-development was never so evident as it was in his position as Senior Vice-President of Technical Services at CB Richard Ellis in Dallas. Larry developed and led the emergency response plan for New York’s American Express building following 911, and more recently, the CBRE building in New York after Tropical Storm Sandy. His current involvement in the development of the Shanghai Tower in Shanghai, China was not only professionally satisfying, but personally so as he enjoyed travelling and different cultures. He especially enjoyed his hunting and fishing. Never was he happier than when he could host his family and friends on a dove, pheasant, or goose hunt or take them fishing for Northern Pike in Canada. An avid pilot and hunter, Larry was a member of the AOPA, NRA, and the Dallas Safari Club. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm TODAY, Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Emil Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Eldridge of Dallas, TX; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Janet Eldridge of El Campo, TX and Gary and Leann Eldridge of Wharton, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Lee, Ross, and Austin Eldridge, Michel, Claude and Armand Berube, Jim Delamore, Harold Hurst, and Bill Hildebrandt. Alternate pallbearers will be Grayson Gill, Lee Woodson, Randy Blair, Don Erdelt, Ken Moody and Tom Dalrymple. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Houston Area Parkinson Society, 2700 Southwest Fwy, Suite 296, Houston, TX 77098. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
