Mary Driscoll Rodriguez Mary Driscoll Rodriguez, age 91, of Boling passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 in a Houston hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born on February 10, 1922 in Pledger, Texas, a daughter of the late Carlos Driscoll, Sr. and Manuela Barrera Driscoll. Mary was raised in the Pledger area and attended school there. She married Robert F. Rodriguez on May 5, 1940 and he preceded her in death on November 21, 1999. Mary was a homemaker all her life. Living in Newgulf, she also worked for Texasgulf in the janitorial department. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family and visiting with her friends and family. Mary was also active in the Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton for many years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Mario Robert Rodriguez, and brother, Carlos Driscoll, Jr. Funeral services will began with visitation on Tuesday evening, March 5 from 5 till 9 pm at the Wharton Funeral Home with a rosary held at 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 6 at 10am at Mt Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton with Father Gabriel Espinosa officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include her daughters, Delia Montemayor of Alvin, Maria Andrea Solis of Rosenberg, and Stella Duran of Houston, sisters, Alice Gonzales Yanez and husband, Ray of Katy, and Carol Sanders and husband Paul of Newgulf, brother, Fidel Driscoll and wife, Mary Ellen of Pleak, grandchildren, Russell and Larry Montemayor, and Craig, Tony and Ryan Solis, great grandchildren, Andrea Solis, Seth, Megan, Shae Marie, Ali, and Leah Montemayor, and great great grandson, Jacob Montemayor. Pallbearers will be Russell Montemayor, Craig Solis, Tony Solis, Ryan Solis, Steven Driscoll, Larry Montemayor, Rudy Ramirez and Eliseo Hernandez. James Ezell and Lupe Solis Jr. served as honorary pallbearers. Funeral services were under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
