Lenora Hope Voulgaris

Lenora Hope Voulgaris, age 58, of Wharton passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in a Houston hospital following an extended illness. She was born on January 12, 1955 in Independence, LA, a daughter of the late Frank and Johnnie Welch Ashmore. Mrs. Voulgaris was raised in the Baton Rouge area and graduated from school there. Hope married Patrick Brookman Voulgaris on July 18, 1978 in Wharton. She worked as a Cafeteria manager for Wharton ISD for many years. She enjoyed cooking for her family, visiting with her friends and family watching John Wayne movies and her coffee club on Saturday mornings. Hope was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Wharton for many years. Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 10:30 Saturday, March 23 at St Thomas Episcopal Church in Wharton with Rev. John Soard officiating. Survivors include her husband, Patrick Brookman Voulgaris of Wharton, daughter, Tina Hunt of Pakistan, sister, Mary June Ashmore of Baton Rouge, brothers, Frank Ashmore, Jr. of Baton Rouge, and David Ashmore of Oregon, grandchildren, Shawn Patrick Voulgaris, Haseeb Blaoch and Feroza Blaoch.
