Rev. Henry C. Rachunek Reverend Henry Charles Rachunek, age 80 of Beasley and formerly of Hungerford, TX died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in a Houston Hospital following an extended illness. He was born on May 14, 1932 in Hungerford, TX. Father Rachunek’s assignments included Houston, East Bernard, Rosenberg, Hungerford and Beasley. He served at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hungerford and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church from 1974 until 2010 when he moved to Beasley as retired Priest in residence at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Friends may call for visitation starting at 5:00 pm Sunday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley with a Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. Visitation will start at 5:00 pm Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hungerford with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 9th. at St. John’s Catholic Catholic Church in Hungerford with Bishop David Fellhauer and Msgr. William Manger concelebrating. Burial will follow in the St. John’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Hungerford. Survivors include; sisters, Della Morris and Clara Kostka of both of Wharton, Ollie Faltisek of Lake Jackson; brothers, Frank Rachunek and Adolph Rachunek both of Wharton, Richard Rachunek of Angleton, TX and Ben Rachunek of Sweeny, TX. Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and four nephews and one great nephew. In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests memorials to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, P. O. Box 89, Beasley, TX 77417 OR St. John’s Catholic Church, P.O. Box 121, Hungerford, TX 77448. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
