Connie M Garcia

Connie M. Garcia, age 75 of Houston and a former long-time resident of Boling died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at a Houston hospital following an extended illness. She was born on August 23, 1938 in Newgulf, Texas to parents, Jose A. and Anita Gonzalez Martinez. Connie was raised in Newgulf and attended school there. She married Alfredo “Beneno” Garcia. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2001. A homemaker all her life, she was also employed as a seamstress, painter and receptionist at different times of her life. Connie enjoyed dancing, watching TV, going to the movies, and shopping. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am Friday, April 5, 2013 at Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton with Fr. Gabriel Espinosa officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Jean Martinez and Linda Gill of Houston, Roy Torres of Houston, Albert Torres and Pamela of Houston, Robert Torres and Christine of El Campo and Bonnie Sue Hinojosa and Jose of Pasadena, sisters, Olga Estrada and husband Pete, Aurora Buentella and husband John, brothers, Jessie Martinez and wife, Lydia, Frank Martinez and wife, Dolores and Mario Martinez and wife, Martha, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
