Joshua Lee (Josh) Haynie, age 32 of Wharton died Friday, April 12, 2013 near Lane City, TX in an automobile accident. He was born on June 11, 1980 in St. Louis, MO the son of Gary Lee Haynie and Karen Lizenbee Haynie Smith. Joshua had been a resident of Wharton County for the past twenty years and was Christian by Faith. He was a 1998 graduate of Boling High School and attended Wharton County Junior College. He met Tina Ann Maly in 2002, and they were married on July 4, 2009 in Carmel, CA. He worked as a Damage Prevention Supervisor with Kinder-Morgan for the past five years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF & AM, was a master mechanic and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by a brother, Zachary Smith in 1988. Friends may call for visitation from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wharton Funeral Home on Tuesday evening and a Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm at the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home and Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Wharton Funeral Home with Dr. Donnie Melton officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include his wife, Tina Ann Haynie of Wharton; daughter, Savannah Leigh Haynie of Wharton; brother, Lukas Smith of Kingsville, TX; Mother and step-father, Karen and Richard Smith of Wharton; Father and stepmother, Gary Lee and Betty Haynie of Troy, MO., Grandparents, Robert and Natalie Lizenbee of Dexter, MO; Roy and Neola Haynie of Farmington, MO; and LeRoy and Betty Smith of Sugarland, TX. Several cousins, aunts, uncles and numerous family members also survive. Pallbearers will be: Anthony Tyrone, Jerod Guess, Ben Luco, Jock Powers, Austin Waters, and Wesley Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Jochen, Lukas Smith, Brandon Cruz, Todd Johse, and Clay Smith. In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests memorials be given to Josh and Tina Haynie’s children for their college funds.
