Bobby Joe Myers, Sr.

Bobby Joe Myers, Sr. Mr. Bobby Joe Myers, age 84 of Wharton and a former resident of Springhill, LA. died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in a Houston Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on July 23, 1928 in Taylor, Arkansas the son of the late James Aswell Myers and Laura Elizabeth Frame Myers. Mr. Myers has been a resident of Wharton since October, 2011 and formerly lived in Springhill, LA for fifty years. He worked as a transport driver and mechanic for Branch Bros. Ford in Springhill for over thirty years. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He married Maria Dalys Aguirre on April 12, 1950 in Taylor, Arkansas. He was a member of the Church of Christ. A sister and seven brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm TODAY, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home with Mr. Paul Jones officiating. Private graveside services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include his wife, Maria Dalys Myers of Wharton; sons and daughters-in-law, Karl and Rebecca Myers of Wharton, Bobby Joe and Mary Myers, Jr. of San Antonio, TX and Phil Myers of Prosper, TX. Grandchildren, Jamie Carey, Lindsey Holmes, Jeremy Myers and Stephanie Myers. Numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
