Lillian E. McKee Mrs. Lillian Evelyn McKee, age 89 of Wharton died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in Wharton following a sudden illness. She was born on October 2, 1923 in Crescent, TX the daughter of the late Anton Cerny, Sr. and Frances Baklik Cerny. Mrs. McKee has been a resident of Wharton for the past seventy years and was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She was a graduate of Crescent High School. She married Otto Ellis McKee on December 8, 1947 in Wharton and he preceded her in death on July 17, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Daryl McKee in 2007 and a infant son Danny McKee and one brother, Alfonce Cerny. Mrs. McKee worked as the Laboratory Supervisor for many years at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton. She enjoyed crafts and painting and was active at St. Thomas Episcopal Church for many years. Friends may call for visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday afternoon at the Wharton Funeral Home and funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, April 29, 2013 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Wharton with Rev. John Soard officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Pam McKee of Wharton; granddaughter and husband, Allison McKee and Raymond Hussler of Georgetown, TX; sisters, Ella Cervenka of Wharton, Irene Lutringer of Crescent and Margie Kutach of West Columbia; brothers, Anton Cerny of Sealy and Alvin Cerny of Crescent. Pallbearers will be Clarence Cerny, Larry Kalina, Eugene Kutach, Curtis Wilkins, Aris Revelo and Raymond Husser. In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests memorials to; St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 207 Bob-o-link, Wharton, TX 77488. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
