Rebecca Ruth Norrell, age 82 of Wharton, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at a wharton nursing center following an extended illness. She was born on January 19, 1931, in Comanche, Texas, a daughter of the late Glenn Brown and Ruth Emert Grant and Wyatt Grant. Rebecca was raised in the Stephenville area and graduated from school there, she later attended Tarleton State University. On January 1, 1950 she married Harry Lee Norrell in Newgulf. He preceded her in death June 29, 2004. She worked for many years as a library aide in Wharton at WCJC and with the Wharton County bookmobile. Rebecca enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking, doting on her grandchildren and growing roses. She was Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by granddaughter, Brooke Norrell and her brother, Charles Brown. Following cremation, graveside services will be held at 1pm Sunday April 28 at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Mickey Reynolds officiating. Survivors include her daughter, Ann Norrell of Wharton, sons, Glenn Norrell and wife, Debbie of Wharton and Frank Norrell and wife, Delisa of Colorado Springs, CO. Grandchildren, Steven Dowell, Jenna Graham, Jonathan Norrell, Korenna Dowell, Jessica Norrell, Kaitlyn Norrell, Vail Norrell and Grant Norrell, along with great grandchildren, Victoria and Hunter Dowell also survive.
