Geronimo (Ronny) Cantu

Geronimo Cantu Mr. Geronimo (Ronnie) Cantu, age 33 of Bay City died Wednesday May 1, 2013 in an automobile accident in south of Wharton. He was born on June 14, 1979 in Bay City, TX the son of Geronimo Arthur Cantu and Lydia Castillo Cantu. Mr. Cantu worked in Construction and enjoyed BBQ, being with family and friends, especially his daughter, fishing and cooking. Friends may call for visitation for visitation starting at 9:30 am Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Rescue Church at 915 FM 1299 in Wharton and services will follow at 12:30 pm at the Church with Pastor Paul Steib officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include his wife, Katy Luera Cantu of Bay City; his daughter, Hannah Mae Cantu of Bay City; parents, Lydia Garza and husband Louis, Geronimo Arthur Cantu; Grandparents Antonio and Adelina Castillo all of Wharton; sisters Betsy Sanchez of San Antonio, Marcy Villarreal and husband Pedro of Katy, TX, and Alexis Cantu of Wharton; brothers, David Charles of Wharton, Henry Guzman, Jr. and wife Jessica of Rosenberg, Bobby Cantu and wife Marcella of Richmond, TX, Jose Garza of Houston and Jeremy Garza and wife, Shannon of Los Fresnos, TX; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Pallbearers will be Jose Garza, Jeremy Garza, Bobby Cantu, Henry Guzman, Jr., David Charles and Brandon Perry. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
