Dorothy Brautigam, age 86 of Wharton died Monday, May 27, 2013 at a Wharton hospital following a sudden illness. She was born on May 9, 1927 in Queens New York, a daughter of the late George and Josephine Gluczek Bilozur. Dorothy was raised in New York and graduated from high school there. She married Elmer Brautigam on May 28, 1946 in New York City. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2002. She was a devoted wife and homemaker all her life. Dorothy enjoyed going to casinos, either in Vegas or Louisiana. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jean Ann Brautigam and son, Thomas Brautigam. Following cremation, private memorial services will be held at a later date. Survivors include her daughters, Randy Smith and husband, Dave of Wharton, and Patrice Jewell of Houston, son, John Brautigam and wife, Martha of Buda, grandchildren, Donald, Kylie, Matt, Amie and Shannon, and great grandchildren, Shelby, Avery, Chloe, Elise, Aiden and Liam.
