Carrie Mae Hudgins, age 74 of Hungerford, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Methodist hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Magnet, TX on November 9, 1938, a daughter of the late George Willrich and Elenora Horelica Willrich. Carrie was raised in the Wharton area and graduated from Wharton High School. She attended Incarnate Word University obtaining her Bachelors Degree. She was married to Leslie “Bubba” Hudgins on November 11, 1960, in Wharton, Texas. Carrie was a dedicated employee of JD Hudgins Inc. as a bookkeeper for over 53 years. She was a longtime resident of Hungerford and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Hungerford. Carrie enjoyed her grandkids, cooking, and her flowers. She was very devout attendee of her church. Carrie also rarely missed a meeting of her Bridge Club on Wednesdays. In addition to her parents, her brother, George Willrich and sister, Evelyn Janik, preceded her in death. A rosary was recited at 7:00 pm Friday evening at St Johns Catholic and a Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM TODAY, July 20th, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hungerford with Father Charles Dwomoh officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery in Hungerford. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe, Bill, Bob, and Tom Hudgins. Survivors include her husband, Leslie “Bubba” Hudgins, sons, Steven Hudgins and fiancée, Lisa Shoppa of Hungerford and Rex Hudgins and wife, Suzie of East Bernard, daughter, Amy Polak of East Bernard, grandchildren, Taylor Hudgins, Collin Hudgins, Andrew Hudgins, Amanda Polak, Kristin Polak, Brooke Polak, Abby Hudgins and Caylee Hudgins. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to St. Johns Catholic Church, P.O.
