Annita Camille Niemann

Mrs. Annita Niemann, age 70 of East Bernard died Monday, August 5, 2013 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on November 8, 1942 in Houston, a daughter of the late Herschel and Evelyn Dudley McKinnon. She devoted her life to helping others and making the world a better place. Annita spent many years raising not only her own two children but also her step children and later two of her grandchildren. Annita was instrumental in helping to start the East Bernard Fair Fund and was a co founder of the Wharton County Youth Fair at its beginning. She loved life and loved meeting new friends. Annita never met a stranger. Mrs. Niemann was a long-time resident of East Bernard and a member of the Simonton Community Church in Simonton. Annita married Mr. Clarence Niemann on September 12, 1969 in Houston. She was the owner of a ceramic shop for many years and worked at WalMart as a department manager for many more years. She enjoyed gambling, going on cruises and her family. In addition to her parents, Annita was preceded in death by her sisters, Norma Jean Schorm, and Deborah McKinnon and brothers, Wallace McKinnon and Ronald McKinnon and her grandson, Matthew Bubela. Visitation will begin on Thursday August 8, 2013 at 6pm at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with funeral services to be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 9, 2013 at the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Littlefield officiating. Burial followed in the Methodist Cemetery in East Bernard. Pallbearers will be Garret Bubela, Neil Pruitt, Daryl Pruitt, Michael Niemann, Schane Niemann, and Steve McKinnon. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Michael, Ronnie and James McKinnon. Survivors include her husband, Clarence Niemann of East Bernard, daughters, Kathy Bubela and husband, Kallen of El Campo and Luanna Capps and husband, Randy of Dayton, sons, George Pruitt and wife, Kim of Sealy and Timmy Niemann of Watervalley, MS. Eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren also survive. In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests memorials to Houston Hospice- El Campo PO Box 1417, El Campo, Texas 77437.
