Patricia Ann Joyce, age 62 of Wharton died early Thursday, August 8, 2013, at her residence following a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 17, 1951 in Sulphur Springs, TX, a daughter of Billie Ray and Margaret Jean Cromer Baccus. Patty was raised in Mesquite Texas and attended school there. She later attended Aladdin Beauty College. On July 22, 1993, she married John Lynn Joyce in Bay City, Texas. They have made their home in Wharton since. “Grandma Patty” enjoyed camping, shopping (especially Black Friday), people watching, and being chauffeured around. Her love was watching the Dallas Cowboys. Patty was preceded in death by her sister, Paula Ruth Baccus and brother, Larry Baccus. Following Cremation, memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon at Wharton Funeral Home with Jim Smith officiating. Survivors include her husband, Lynn Joyce of Wharton, parents, Billie Ray and Margaret Baccus, daughters, Cheryl Wooldridge of Lake Jackson, April Swanner of Dallas, Jami Vea and husband, Matthew of Royse City, Melissa Kessler and husband, James of Flatonia and Callie Joyce of College Station, sons, Billy Bob Callaway of Rowlett, Michael Joyce and wife, Misty of Wharton and Johnny Joyce of College Station, sister, Beverly Kay Perry of Forney. Her grandchildren, Justin, Travis, Trent, Dylan, Devon, Ontarius, Tyler, Tanner, Trevor, Twyla, Blake, McKenzie, Mikey, Jacob, Karli, Khloe, and Katie and her great grandchildren, Macy and Paisley, and a host of friends also survive. In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 204 Second Street, Wharton, Texas 77488.
