Mr. Earl Gene Brown, age 52 of Wharton, passed away Monday evening, August 12, 2013 at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born on September 12, 1960 in East Bernard to the late Ernest Doyle and Evelyn Morris Brown. Earl was raised in the Wharton area and graduated from Wharton High School in 1979. He worked as a truck driver for Enterprise Crude Oil for many years. Earl married Teresa Lloyd on August 8, 1980 in Wharton. He enjoyed working his cattle, driving his tractor, playing with his grandchildren and helping people finish projects. He was Christian by faith. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Wayne Brown and brother John Brown. Visitation was held Friday evening at Wharton Funeral Home from 6 till 8 pm with funeral services were held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 17, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Wharton with Mr. Mickey Reynolds and Mr. James Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Pallbearers will be Robert Pahmiyer, Joe Cruz, Freddie Pekar, Chris Llanes, Mark Duncan, Billy Schwertner, Jesse Garza, and Richard Lockley. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Teresa Brown of Wharton, son, Todd Earl Brown of Wharton, grandchildren, Kason and Avery Brown, sisters, Judy Jefferies and husband, Jeff of Sweeny and Pamela Ferguson of Dayton, brothers, Ernest Brown Jr., of Coco Beach, Fl, Roy Brown of Deer Park, Bobby Brown and wife, Maichelle of Wharton, and Ricky Brown and wife Jeanette of Pledger. A host of cousins, neighbors and friends also survive.
