Cullen Pope “Mac” McCracken Cullen Pope “Mac” McCracken, age 83 of Wharton passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013. He was born August 3, 1931, to Joe and Anna McCracken in Grand Junction, Tennessee. Mac served in the United States Navy from August 24, 1948 retiring March 1, 1978. After his dedicated 30 years of Military service he was a proud owner and operator of an 18 wheeler for 25 years. Mac married Irene McCracken in 1971 whom he loved and revered the rest of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Anna McCracken, his sister Lucy, his brothers Marty, Bob, Joe and his step-daughter Sharon Tipps. Survivors include his daughter’s Carroll Goodrich and Cathy King and husband Brad, his sons Michael and wife Victoria, Bill and wife Gina, Ronald and wife Rose Marie, and Jerry McCracken, step-children, Donna Hundl and husband John, Alan Ragus and wife Patricia, and Terri Ragus. Mac has several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mac was dedicated and proud of his military career and per his request will have a Navy Burial At Sea. Mac had a high regard for the military men and women who serve, been wounded, or gave their lives while in the military to keep this country free.
