Diana Marie Horelica

Diana Marie Horelica, age 65 of East Bernard, Texas, passed away suddenly on Saturday October 5, 2013. She was born on August 3, 1948 in La Grange to parents, John and Evelyn Sulak Ermis. Diana was born and raised in the La Grange area and graduated from La Grange High School. She later attended Austin Beauty School. She married Vernon Horelica in 1967. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2002. She worked for the United States Postal Service as a carrier for many years. Diana enjoyed going on cruises, the casino, church festivals, and polka dances. The highlight of her day was spent with her grandchildren. Visitation was held on Friday evening, October 11, from 6 till 9 pm, with a rosary recited at 7pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Donald Ruppert officiating. Burial followed in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Plum, Texas. Pallbearers include Butch Gaddis, Karl Goehring, Bobby Beck, Randy Beck, Danny Wayne Olenick, Brad Allen Olenick and Bubba Riehs. Serving, as honorary pallbearers were Jerry Smaistrla, Lillian Hancock, Agnes Minks, Dolores Pietsch, Charlotte Bucek, Judy Schnieder, Mary Ann Tichacek and Claudia Wilcox. Survivors include her son, Vernon Horelica, Jr. of East Bernard, daughter, Dodie Nichols and husband, Joel of Lago Vista, grandchildren, Abby, Haley, Kylie and Seth. Numerous friends and extended family also survive.
