Pilar Joe Guerrero Pilar J. Guerrero, age 91 of Wharton passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday November 11 at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Wharton Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pilar was born October 12, 1922, to Rooleo and Lucas Lara Guerrero in Glen Flora, Texas. Mr. Guerrero was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He also retired from Texas Gulf Coast after many years of devoted employment. Pilar is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pauline Rodriguez Guerrero in 2001 which he married in 1946, also by 2 brothers, and 1 sister. Survivors include his son Joe Guerrero and wife Sylvia , daughter Joyce Munoz and husband Martin, step-daughters Sylvia Castillo, Emelia Lozano, and Betty Rojas, step-sons, Louis Gaona and Abel Gaona, Faithful companion Maria Guadalupe Gaona, Grandchildren, Melissa Pinasco, Andrew Munoz, Jarred Guerrero, and Ashley Guerrero and husband Erik, Great Grandchildren, Erik Jr., and Eliyah Estrada, and numerous other step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home
