Albert Hounshell

Albert Hounshell, age 90 of Eagle Lake, TX died Sunday, November 17, 2013 in a Wharton nursing faculity following a lengthy illness. He was born on October 1, 1923 in Santa Barbara, CA, a son of the late Joseph Albert Hounshell and Edith Felder Hounshell. . Albert was raised in the Wharton area and attended Wharton High School. He married Elenora Hundl on August 20, 1946, and she preceded him on October 18, 1987. Albert was a farmer/ dairyman all his life. He also had a pilots license, and enjoyed flying his airplane. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sons, Larry Albert Hounshell and Fred Allen Hounshell Albert was survived by his grandchildren, Ross Allen Hounshell of Columbus, Marla Hounshell of Garland and Jennifer Mauldin and husband, James of Temple, and great grandchildren, Katherine and James Mauldin, Jr, daughter in law, Mary Ann Rodriguez and brother in law, Bennie Hundl and wife, Valaria, Wilbert Hundl and wife, Albina and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services began with a parish rosary at 10:00 am and funeral mass at 10:30 am Wednesday, November 18, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton with Rev. Bob Knippenberg officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Pallbearers included Robert Hundl, Phillip Hundl, Thomas Mahalitc, Rey Rodriguez, Rodney Hernandez and Matt Hernandez.
