Bruce William Kenner

Bruce Kenner, age 62 of Wharton, TX died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in a hospital in The Woodlands, TX following a brief illness. He was born on January 31, 1951 in Abilene, a son of the late Ford and Rama Dell Robinson Kenner. Bruce was raised in Snyder and graduated from Snyder High School. He obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Stephen F. Austin University. He worked as a band director for numerous school districts including Sealy, Sudan, Floydada, Snyder, China, and currently Wharton I.S.D. He was a very talented musician who loved teaching children to play instruments and instill the love of music. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and most importantly spending time with his three children. Bruce is survived by daughter Robyn Kenner of New York City, son David Kenner of New York City, and daughter Melissa Kenner with her fiance Blake Tafolla, both of The Woodlands, TX. He is also survived by Michael and Karen Kenner, brother and sister- in- law to Bruce, as well as many friends and fellow musicians. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning, from 9:30 til service time at 10:30 am at the Wharton High School Auditorium with Rev. Don Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
