Olvie Lee Walker, age 90, of Wharton ,Tx died Friday evening, December 6, 2013 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born on August 31, 1923 in Wiseman, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Steven and Iris King Pogue. Olvie was raised in Arkansas and attended school there. She later attended cosmetology school in Arkansas. Olvie Lee married Mason Walker on September 11, 1944 in McKinney, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2002. Many hours were spent with Mason at the VFW and American Legion Hall doing whatever was needed. She was a homemaker all her life. She enjoyed cooking and scratch off lottery tickets. She was a member of Abel Street Church of Christ. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Carol Walker. She is survived by her brother, Ransom Pogue and wife, Janice of Batesville, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 2 pm at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. Luke Guthrie officiating.
