Francis Lorraine Dawson

Francis Lorraine Dawson, age 76, of Boling, Texas, passed away at her residence on Saturday February 8 following a sudden illness. She was born January 19, 1938, in El Campo to the late Charles Avery and Audrey Mae Whitley Howard. Francis was raised in the El Campo area and graduated from El Campo High. She married Jerry Neal Dawson on April 21, 1957 in El Campo, and they lived their lives together in the Newgulf and Boling areas. Francis was an accountant with Wharton County Junior College and was later a homemaker. She enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, growing flowers and raising birds. Her passions were her grandchildren, great grandchildren, Christmas, crafts and sewing quilts. Visitation was held on Tuesday evening at Wharton Funeral Home with the Funeral service being held at 2 pm Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Ollie Southall officiating. Survivors include her husband, of 56 years, Neal Dawson of Boling, daughter, Kim Renee Kieler and husband, Charlie of East Bernard, sons, Kent Howard Dawson and wife, Lori of La Grange, and Kirk Neal Dawson and wife, Seana of London, England, sister, Mildred Krebs of Brazoria, brother, Raymond Howard and wife, Marcel of El Campo, grandchildren, Karissa Kocian and husband, Eric, Brittany Kerr and husband, Bryan, Tyler Dawson, Wyatt Kieler, Kristin Kieler and Joseph Dawson, and great grandsons, Grady John and Zach Avery Kocian. In addition to her parents, Francis was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Luker and great grandson, Baby Shea Kerr.
