Dr. Kenneth Kay Krueger joined his Heavenly Father on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013. He spent his last days in his residence surrounded by his loving family, after battling an illness. He was born Feb. 17, 1949 in Wharton to Henry Edward Krueger and Fannie Mae Koehler Krueger. Kenneth is survived by his wife, L. Diane Richardson Krueger of Marshville, N.C.; two children: his son, Tye Edward Krueger of Bend, Ore.; his daughter, Tiffany Krueger Massengill, her husband, Bob, and granddaughter, Siena, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; his sisters, Carolyne Marie “Penny” Tinsley and husband, Wayne, of Spring and Dorcas Cass Martignoni and husband, Patrick, of Victoria; brother, Charles Edward Krueger and wife Sherry of Hye; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenneth earned his bachelor of science, masters and his PhD degrees all from Texas A&M University from 1971 to 1976. After several career opportunities, he opened his own business, Diamond K Research, in 1995 and continued to consult, lecture and teach in the agricultural world. Kenneth was a very outgoing person. His family was his first priority. He loved the outdoors, raising cattle on his farm, watching wildlife and spending time training his beloved dogs. He was very involved in the Messiah Lutheran Church of Charlotte, N.C., serving as elder as well as teacher. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10 am at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home.
