Judy Mabel Freeman Curtis was born on September 12, 1944, in the community of Ranger, Texas and died at home in East Bernard, Texas on Sunday, February 16, 2014. Her parents were Jewel Elvis and Ida Inez Davidson Freeman. She graduated from Denver City High School in 1963 and went on to earn her Bachelors of Science degree in Education from the College of the Southwest and she completed several Continuing Education courses from the University of Houston and Texas A &M University in College Station. She held positions as a Teacher and Educator in School Districts on East Bernard, El Campo, and Lamar Consolidated. She was also a devoted mother to her daughters, Amy and Alicia. In July of 1982, she married George Curtis, the love of her life. Judy Curtis was preceded in death by her parents, Jewel Elvis Freeman and Ida Inez Davidson Freeman as well as her infant daughter, Angela Stockstill. Mrs. Curtis is survived by husband, George Curtis, daughters, Amy Stockstill of Dallas, Alicia Stockstill Meeks and husband, Scott Meeks of Mission, step daughter, Tina Curtis of Conroe, grandchildren, Alicia Nicole Vanderpool and Tyler Keith Vanderpool, brothers, Bob Freeman and wife, Gladys of Garden Grove, CA, Bill Freeman and wife, Irma of Kingwood and Kim Freeman and wife, Willie of Alvin and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held on Thursday , February 20,2014 at 11 am at East Bernard Methodist Church with Rev. Alex Lupo officiating.
