Wanda Lou Fulton, 86, of Wharton, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2014, surrounded by her family, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. She was born February 19, 1928, in Poteau, Oklahoma to parents Otto C. and Lester Oliver Crutchfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Adell Parker and Lavaun “Billie” Cape. Lou was raised in Oklahoma City, OK where she married Robert R. Fulton on November 15, 1946. Bob and Lou later moved to Newgulf, TX and then Wharton, TX. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Bob Fulton; her daughters Paula Davis and husband James of Wharton and Kathy Hill and husband Larry of Boling; 5 grandchildren Wanda Davis Wolfe, Vicky Davis Janecek and husband Glen, Carman Hill Tanner and husband David, Colleen Hill Forasiepi and husband Marvin and James Bobby Davis and Cathy Montalvo; 9 great-grandchildren LD, Elyse and Rhett Tanner, Hannah and Rylee Wolfe, Barrett and Braden Janecek, and Abbi and Emily Forasiepi. Lou enjoyed mahjong, canasta, golf, bowling and RVing. She was a member of the Rice Belt Travel & Camping Club and was a Beaumont City Bowling Champ. She loved spending time with her family. Mimi, as her grandchildren called her, loved the color purple, ironically the color of Alzheimer Awareness. If you wish, join us in wearing the color purple for her service. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at 2 p.m. from First Baptist Church, 507 N. Fulton in Wharton with Rev. Tony Wishert officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton, TX. Serving as pallbearers are Bobby Davis, James Davis, Larry Hill, David Tanner, Glen Janecek and Marvin Forasiepi. The family would like to thank Lou’s long-time care giver, Pearl Jackson and the staff of Elmcroft Senior Living of Wharton for their attentive care.
