Helen Louise Wuthrich went home to be the Lord on April 5, 2014 after a brief illness. She was 91 years old. Helen was born on October 22, 1922 in Enid Oklahoma to David Columbus Osborne and Bertha Myrtle Carter Osborne. As a child of the Great Depression, she knew what it was like to be in need. Her two favorite meals from childhood were biscuits and gravy or cornbread and beans. Consequently, Helen was a cheerful giver, putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She was always giving help to anyone around her who had a need. In 1950 at the age of 28, Helen met and married Air Force serviceman Norbert (Bert) A. Wuthrich. After Bert's retirement in 1963, they moved from the Lockbourne Air Force base in Columbus, Ohio with their three children to Wharton, Texas to be close to their relatives. They were members of St. Johns Lutheran church. Helen was instrumental in organizing the Wharton PTA, on which she served as president. She was a devoted housewife, an excellent seamstress, and later took up crocheting and bead work. She loved to bowl and write poetry and had several poems published. She is preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Bert, brother David (Sonny) Osborne, her two sisters Velma Dicken and Mary Ann Mattingly, and great grandson Lance Logan Johansen. Helen is survived by her 3 children, Mark and wife Sharon, Luana Savage and husband Charles, and Barry. Four grandchildren, Melanie and Jarrett Baca, Brian Wuthrich and wife Kelly, and Nicholas Wuthrich, and five great grandchildren, Colton Johansen, Cody Baca, Jayden Baca, Kaylee Baca and Blake Wuthrich. She leaves behind a large family of relatives and friends, most of whom own something beautiful that was hand made by her. Memorial Services were held Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 10:00am at Grace Community Fellowship, 1900 FM 1301, Wharton,Texas followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Grace Community Fellowship Youth Center.
