Delia Campos Alanis Delia Campos Alanis, age 69 of Victoria and formerly of Newgulf died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at a Houston hospice center following a lengthy illness. She was born on October 15, 1944 in Newgulf, Texas, a daughter of the late Alvino Campos and Guadalupe Cuellar Campos. Delia was longtime resident of Newgulf, and she worked for many years at Crossroads Home Health. She enjoyed watching sports, especially attending all her grandsons sporting and school activities, being outdoors, gardening and drawing. In addition to her parents, her brothers, Richard Campos, Alvino Campos, and David Campos preceded her in death. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, August 25 at Wharton Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2014 at Wharton Funeral Home at 10 am with Benito Villarreal officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlos Campos, Jr, Joel Villarreal, Eric Rodriguez, Omar Garcia, Adrian Garcia, and Charlie Campos. Honorary pallbearers include her grandsons, Trey and Aaron Martinez and her brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children, Lisa C Alanis, and Angelica Gutierrez and husband, David both of Victoria, grandchildren, Trey and Aaron Martinez, sisters, Irene Carbajal, Margaret Rios, Lydia Campos, Amelia Garcia, Corina Robles, Belia Jimenez and Elva Ramirez, brothers, Carlos Campos, Robert Campos, Rudolfo Campos, and Alonza Campos.
