Guadalupe M Gutierrez Guadalupe M Gutierrez, 86, of Wharton, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 30, 2014, at a Wharton nursing center. She was born June 25, 1928, in Iago, Texas to parents Julian and Augustina Luna Munoz. Guadalupe was raised in the Wharton area. She married Pedro Gutierrez, Jr on October 6, 1949 in Wharton. Together they lived their life in Wharton. She enjoyed family gatherings, watching her grandchildren play sports, especially softball and football. She enjoyed cooking and BBQing. Visitation was held Sunday, August 31st, 2014 after 5 pm with a parish rosary at 7 pm at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Monday, September 1st, 2014 at 10 am from Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton with Rev Bob Knippenberg officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton, TX. Serving, as pallbearers were Ruben Gutierrez, Jr, Ernest Cisneros, Jr., Joe Gomez, Roger Garcia, Jr., John Steven Gutierrez and Johnny Munoz, with honorary pallbearer, Jeremiah DeLuna. Guadalupe is survived by her husband of 64 years, Pedro Gutierrez of Wharton, daughter, Maria Gomez and husband, Joe of Wharton, sons, Ruben Gutierrez and wife, Beverly of Wharton and John Gutierrez and wife, Catherine of Pueblo, CO, sisters, Vera Hewitt of Houston, Augustina Cardenes of Rosenberg, and Basilla Robles of Wharton, brothers, Cruz Munoz of Houston and Julian Munoz of Pasadena, grandchildren, Ruben Gutierrez, Jr., Brittany Cisneros, Stephanie Sanchez, Rogelio Garcia, Jr., Monica Garcia, Christopher Garcia, John Steven Gutierrez, Adriana Gutierrez, Tina Odem, David Watson, and Vollie Watson.
