Walter Vaughn Davis Walter Vaughn Davis, 80, of Iago, Texas, passed away on Tuesday September 2, 2014, at his residence following a brief illness. He was born October 4, 1933, in Stafford, Texas to the late Orval Thomas and Sallie Lee Ellis Davis. Walter was raised in the Stafford area. He attended school in the Boling and West Columbia area. After joining the United States Army, he obtained his diploma. Walter served our country honorably in the Army, being discharged from active duty in 1955. Walter then entered the business world by starting Walter David Water Well Service. He married Bobbie Lee Bundick on April 6, 1956 in Bay City. She preceded him in death on June 19, 2011. Walter enjoyed working, deer hunting, going to church and just being outdoors. Many days, a person could find him working on his tractor or truck, just making it better. In addition to his parents and wife, his brothers, Curtis Orval Davis, Jimmy Ray Davis, Billy Thomas Davis and Tommy Lynn Davis, preceded Walter in death. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 7, 2014 after 5 pm at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 8, 2014 at 10 am from Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton with Revs. Marvin Moore, and Mike Cowey along with Leon Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Houston National Cemetery in Houston at 2:30 pm. Walter is survived by his son, Jerry Davis and wife, Karen of Boling, daughter, Laurie Ann Lee of Grand Prarie, sisters, Betty Teeler and husband, Sherman of Van Vleck and Mary Ann Wells of CA, brothers, Leon Davis of Smiley and Alfred Davis and wife, Linda of Needville, sisters in law, Josephine Davis and Adalee Davis, grandchildren, Cody Scott Lee, Kalen Jace Lee, Tracey Simoneau, Debbie Paez and husband, Joe and Kimberley Anderson and husband, Jonathan, great grandchildren, Madison Lee, Anthony Paez, Sierra Anderson, Kaden Anderson and Grayson Anderson.
