Dominic Bernard Huggins Dominic Huggins, 55, of Wharton, Texas, passed away on Tuesday September 2, 2014. He was born January 2, 1959 in Newgulf, Texas a son of the late Joseph and Frances Zernicek Huggins. Dominic was raised in Wharton and after graduation served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He married Eileen Alanna McMahon on July 11, 1998 in Bay City, Texas and resided in Corpus Christi. They moved to the Wharton area in 2002 where Dominic worked for Dow Chemical for many years as an Operator. He so enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodwork and being with his girls. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton. In addition to his parents, Dominic is preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Melvin Huggins and nephews Cory Wayne Duncan, Jason Miska, Michael Branson and John Paul Baca. Visitation was held Friday evening, September 5, 2014, with a parish rosary recited at 7pm at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton with Rev. Bob Knippenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Serving as pallbearers are nephews, Clay Border, Christopher Branson, Alan Huggins, Brian Huggins, Carter Miska and Chris Miska. Honorary pallbearers are Dominic’s brothers, and nephews Cory Allen Duncan and Will Border. Dominic is survived by his wife, Alanna Huggins of Wharton, daughters Hannah Huggins and Leah Huggins of Wharton and Sarah Huggins and Katheryne Huggins of San Antonio, sisters Georgie Gibbs and husband Jack of Hempstead, Mary Ann Balling and husband Jimmy of New York, Patricia Miska and husband Johnny of Wharton, Veronica Wanjura and husband Charles of Cuero and Monica Duncan and husband Roy of El Campo, brothers Marvin Huggins and wife Kitty of San Antonio, Patrick Huggins and wife Sally of El Campo, David Huggins of Wharton and Mark Huggins and wife Karla of New York.
