Janet Ann Miculka, age 62 of East Bernard passed away Saturday morning, September 13, 2014 at her residence following a sudden illness. She was born on February 8, 1952 in Nada, a daughter of the late Frank F and Lucy Krenek Bubela. Janet was raised in the Nada area and graduated from El Campo High School. She married Frank Miculka on January 16, 1971 in Nada. They worked together at Hilltop Store in Kendleton for many years before moving to East Bernard to raise their family. Janet enjoyed working as an office manager at Dr John R. Kieler, DDS. Janet enjoyed her grandchildren, watching them play sports ranging from little league baseball to high school football, never missing a game. She also enjoyed being outdoors, working in her garden and flowerbeds. Janet was a devout member of St John’s Catholic Church in Hungerford. In addition to her parents, her brother, Clarence Bubela, preceded her in death. Janet is survived by her husband of 43 years, Frank Miculka of East Bernard, daughter, Sharon Parnell and husband, Bryan of East Bernard, sons, David Miculka of East Bernard, and Wayne Miculka and fiancée Amanda Andrews of Austin, grandchildren, Chase Stavinoha, Riley Henke, Grace Parnell, Caden Parnell, Marshall Andrews, and Vincent Andrews, brothers, Frank Bubela and wife, Patsy of El Campo, Larry Bubela and wife, Janet of Hungerford, and Allen Bubela and Ruth of Columbus, sisters, Doris Priesmeyer and husband, Daniel of El Campo, and Vlasta Faldyn and husband, Jerry of Columbus and sister in law, Joyce Bubela of Columbus. Visitation begins after 6 pm with a rosary recited on Thursday evening at 7 pm at St John’s Catholic Church in Hungerford. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 19, 2014 at 10 am with Rev. Charles Dwomoh officiating. Burial will follow in the St John’s Cemetery in Hungerford. Memorial contributions may be made to St John’s Catholic Church Building Fund or the Hungerford Vol. Fire Dept.
