Robert Allen Kolojaco, age 70 of Boling passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born on November 14, 1943 in Newgulf, a son of the late John Boon and Martha McClosky Kolojaco. Robert was raised in the Newgulf, Texas and graduated from Boling High School. He married Martha Billington on January 2, 1965 in Newgulf. Robert worked for many years at Texasgulf Sulphur as a plant operator and in the maintenance department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and entertaining his grandchildren. Robert was also an avid animal lover, rarely leaving a stray dog hungry. In addition to his parents, his brother, James Kolojaco, preceded him in death. Robert is survived by his wife of close to 50 years, Martha Kolojaco of Boling, daughter, Kristye Jessen and husband, Terrell, son, Kevin Kolojaco of Boling, grandchildren, Mitchell Hobizal and Ashley Jessen, sisters, Jeanette Bollom and Anna Mullins, and sister in law, Marion Kolojaco. Visitation was held on Friday evening after 5 pm at Wharton Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited on Saturday morning at 10 am at Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton with funeral services to follow with Rev. Bob Knippenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Burwell, Jr., Bradley Atherton, David Penny, William Robert Atherton, Brian LeMaster, Chris LeMaster, Brett Atherton and Chris Billington with honorary pallbearers Lloyd Atherton, Tom Billington, Matt Kennedy, Joe LeMaster and Santiago Gonzales. The family would like to express a thank you to the many people that helped Robert through his struggle the last two years. Thank you to all our family and friends, - Robert depended on and appreciated your prayers, visits and phone calls during many difficult days. Wharton Kidney Center, MD Anderson, and Methodist Hospital were instrumental in giving us precious “time” – a priceless gift. Thanks to St. Christina's who took care of Robert’s transport to dialysis. The staff treated him with dignity and respect for many months during this phase of his treatment. Memorial contributions can be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or the National Kidney Association. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
