Ila Nadine Guin, age 89, of Wharton passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in a Wharton care facility. She was born on April 5, 1925 in Cedar Park, Texas a daughter of the late John Abner and Eva Roberta Marshall Cox. Nadine was raised in the Wharton area and graduated from Wharton High School. She worked at Gulf Coast Medical Center as a PBX Operator for many years. On April 3, 1947, she married James Guin in Ganado. And they made their life in the Wharton area ever since. Nadine was a member of Rescue Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and reading. She also enjoyed keeping the family history in her bible. In addition to her parents, her siblings, Rosa Lee Bullard, Willie Mae Hagler, Elton Ross Cox, Walter Virgil Cox and Nancy Marie Frankum, preceded her in death. Nadine is survived by her husband of 67 years, James Guin of Wharton, sons, Jimmy Guin and wife, Marjorie of Stephenville, Timothy Guin and wife, Sherrie of Wharton and grandchildren, Melanie Wambach and husband, Mike, Wendy Tamayo, Jamie Guin and Mandy Guin, and her great grandchildren, Zachary, Haley, Braxton, Bella, and Ethan. Visitation was held on Thursday evening, September 25, 2014 at Wharton Funeral Home with funeral services held on Friday morning, September 26, 2014 at 10 am with Rev. Edward Frankum officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Frankum, Dean Frankum, Gary Irwin, David Murff, Nathaniel Ryman, and Russell Mike Ryman, with honorary pallbearers Jamie Guin, Zachary Wambach, Braxton Wambach, and Ethan Tamayo. .
