Georgia Mary Wicke Georgia Mary Wicke, age 98 of East Bernard passed away Monday morning, October 13, 2014. She was born on August 19, 1916 in La Grange, a daughter of the late Hugo and Vlasta Kubala Sevcik. Georgia was raised in the La Grange area and moved to the East Bernard area in 1928. She married Charlie P. Wicke on October 3, 1938 in East Bernard. They lived their lives as farmers in the East Bernard area. Georgia was an accomplished seamstress. She sewed all her children’s clothes during their school days. Charlie passed away on September 14, 1985. Georgia was very involved with Holy Cross Catholic Church, being a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and a Christian Mother. Georgia was a Perpetual Associate of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament Associates of Victoria, Texas. She also enjoyed flowers, quilting, crossword puzzles, working in her garden and donating plants to the church bazaar each fall. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents and husband; children, Pauline and Kenneth Francis; daughter-in-laws Eva Wicke, Cathy Wicke and Peggy Wicke; and sisters, Ellen, Marcella, Sylvia, Mary and Lydia. Georgia is survived by her daughter, Margaret Wicke of Richmond, sons, Charles Wicke and wife, Lyn of East Bernard, Allen Wicke and wife, Debby of Tomball, Kenneth Paul Wicke and wife, Beatrice of East Bernard, John Robert Wicke and wife, Ann Doris of East Bernard, Ronald Wicke of East Bernard, Sandy Wicke and wife Terry of East Bernard and Dale Wicke of East Bernard; sister, Florence Adamitis of El Campo, grandchildren, Debbie, Darryl, Duane, Lisa, Kristen, Jenny, Cyndi, Melissa, Grace, Caryn, Jessica, Matthew, Sarah, Ashlynn, Rebecca and Catie along with great grandchildren, Jacob, Jonah, Allen, Laura, William, Logan, Lucy, and Jack. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive. A visitation with rosary was recited on Wednesday evening, October 15 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Donald Ruppert officiating. Burial followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery in East Bernard.
