Augustine Espinosa, Sr., 68, of Glen Flora, Texas, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, October 27, 2014, at a Houston hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born July 13, 1946, in Bryan, Texas to parents Pete and Eloisa Guerrero Espinosa. Augustine was raised in the Glen Flora area and attended school there. He married Paula Bosquez 48 years ago. Augustine worked as a farmer, truck driver and later in the construction field. Augustine enjoyed working, mowing the yard, being with his family and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. Many hours were spent at his church, Bethel Church CLADIC. In addition to his parents and sisters, his son, Robert Espinosa, preceded Augustine in death. Visitation was held Tuesday evening with a 7pm prayer service at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held today, October 29 at 2pm at Wharton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers are Aaron, Nick, Jonathan, and Ryan Espinosa, Jason Thompson and Robbie Gonzales, honorary pallbearers are Anthony and Andrew Gonzales, Vanessa, Megan, Larissa and Melissa Espinosa, Amber Espinosa and Natalie and Carly Gonzales and Cristella Thompson. Augustine is survived by his wife of 48 years, Paula Espinosa of Glen Flora, daughters, Rebecca Gonzales and husband, Robbie of Wharton, Amanda Espinosa and fiancée, Jason Thompson of Glen Flora, sons, Richard Espinosa of El Campo and Augustine Espinosa, Jr and wife, Amanda of E Campo, brothers, Joe Espinosa and wife, Christine of Wharton and Eli Espinosa and wife, Mary of Columbus, grandchildren, Aaron, Nick, Jonathan and Amber Espinosa, Ryan, Megan, Vanessa, Larissa and Melissa Espinosa, Anthony, Andrew, Natalie, and Carly Gonzales and Cristella Thompson and great grandchildren, Jace Espinosa and Jonathan Espinosa, Jr. Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
