Dorothy Reimer Winkles, age 68, resident of Knoxville Tennessee, passed away at her home on Monday November 3, 2014. She was born in Austin, Texas on February 2, 1946. She graduated with her Ph. D from the University of Tennessee, and then spent her career of over 30 years as a Spanish teacher in the Maryville City School System. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, an accomplished flutist in the Knoxville Recreational Band, and an avid cat lover. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Ruth Reimer; father-in-law, J.C. Winkles; aunts and uncles, Herb and Pauline “Polly” Schwartz, Ben and Ruth Reimer, Lil Dawson, Joe and Mary Jane Brown. Dorothy is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband of 38 years, Carl Winkles; sister, Betty Myers and husband David of Moorhead, Minnesota; brothers, Gary Reimer and wife Becky of Seguin, Texas, Dave Reimer and wife Reta of Georgetown, Texas, and James Reimer and companion Robyn Richter of Spicewood, Texas; mother-in-law, Doris Winkles; brother-in-law, Billy Winkles; sister-in-law, Barbara Ragsdale; nieces and nephews, Alisa Daniel, Roxanne Reimer and Aaron Myers; numerous cousins; and special caregivers, Nancy Whaley and Lisa Vineyard. Funeral Services will be held in East Bernard, Texas on Saturday November 8, 2014 at 11 am at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Alex Lupo officiating.
