Mary Lisa Castillo Mary Lisa Castillo, 61, of Wharton, Texas, passed away Sunday evening, November 16, 2014 in a Wharton hospital. Mary was born April 30,1953, in Newgulf, Texas to the late Pete Gusman and Aniseta Esparza Gusman. Mary was raised in the Newgulf/ Boling area and attended Boling schools. She enjoyed the shopping, being a homebody and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary married Richard Castillo, Sr. in Wharton. Mary was a homemaker all her married life. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Henry, Manual, Benjamin and Peter Gusman. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard “RC” Castillo, Sr. of Wharton, daughters, Kathy Castro and Denise Ramiro and husband, Cesar all of Wharton, son, Richard Castillo, Jr. and Diane of Houston, sisters, Rosie Carbajal and Nieves Gusman, brothers, Sammy Gusman, Fred Gusman, and Johnnie Gusman, grandchildren Lauren Castillo, Cloe Castillo, Yvonne Gonzales, Melissa Martinez, Cassandra Martinez, Ralph Castro, Jr., Frankie Castillo Castro, Brandon Castro, Nikie Flores, Amber Flores, Robert Wozniak, Alex Perales, Tyler Perales, and Bryan Perales with great grandchildren, Donovan, Dunte, Phillip, Alejandro, and Fernando Sandoval, Angel Lara, Marybelle, Jonathan, Lauren, Neva, Roman, Ian and Amy Rodriguez, Jasmine, Velencia and Sofia DeAnda, Aalayah, Elilah, Arriannah, Bailey and Neveil Castro. Visitation was held on Thursday evening, November 20 with funeral services held on Friday at Peace Tabernacle in Wharton at 10 am with Rev. Michael Bumgarner officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Serving as pallbearers were Ralph Castro, Frank Castro, Brandon Castro, Alex Perales, Bryan Perales and Tyler Perales. Honorary pallbearers were Nikie Flores, Lauren Castillo, Amber Flores, Cloe Flores all her great grandchildren and Marcus Perez. Condolences may be left at whartonfuneralhome.com. Funeral services were under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
