Milton Rod, age 77 of Wharton, passed away Tuesday evening, November 25, 2014, at a Wharton nursing faculity following a lengthy illness. He was born on December 12, 1936, in Pierce, a son of the late William and Angelina Baklik Rod. Milton was raised in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School in 1955. He later attended technical school in San Antonio to learn television repair. He was the owner operator of Rod's TV for over 50 years in Wharton. He married Ruth Wisnieski on September 23, 1964 in Wharton. He enjoyed fishing, gambling and being a TV tech. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning, November 29, 2014 from 11 until service time at 1 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton. Rev. Daniel Danso will be officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Rod, Paul Blinka, Elmer Rod, Norman Boedecker, Jr., Elvis McKinney and Freddie Pekar. Milton is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Ruth Rod of Wharton, daughter, Melissa Rod of Wharton, step-son, Donnie Besch and wife, Kathy of Spring, sister, Marcel Howard and husband Raymond of El Campo and Marvin Rod of Lake Jackson.
