Guadalupe Driscoll Ramirez, Sr., 85, of Wharton, Texas, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 in a Sugar Land hospital. Guadalupe was born January10, 1929, in Wharton County, Texas to the late Luis Ramirez and Esther DeLeon Driscoll Ramirez. Guadalupe was raised in the Boling area and attended Boling schools. He enjoyed riding around, watching television and spending time with family and friends. Guadalupe married Pauline DeLeon Garcia on January 11, 1957 in Wharton, Texas. He was a truck driver for Alamo Express in Bay City for 29yrs, retired from Boling high school then worked his last job as a custodian for First Baptist Church in Wharton, TX for 23 yrs. Guadalupe was proceeded in death by his wife, Pauline, his daughters, Gloria and Maria, son, Ruben, his parents & sister Veva Garza. He is survived by daughters Mary Esther Ramirez of Palestine, TX, Martha Rodriguez and husband Demencio of Wharton, son, Guadalupe Ramirez Jr and wife Anita Ramirez of Wharton, David Ramirez of Wharton, Jesse Ramirez and wife Melinda of Port Lavaca, Joe Ramirez of Victoria, James Ramirez of Wharton, Jimmie Ramirez and wife Debra of Wharton, Louis Ramirez and wife Bertha of Wharton and Julius Ramirez of Van Vleck. Sisters, Consuelo Hernandez of Rosenberg, Josephine Gonzales of East Bernard, Carol Guzman of Wharton, Maria Ramirez of Bay City, Dolores Vargas of Van Vleck, Julia Sanchez of Victoria and Virginia Garcia of Pledger, brother Luis Ramirez of Van Vleck, 35 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren. Visitation was held on Sunday, December 28, 2014 after 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Monday December 29, 2014 at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel at 10 am with pastor Salas of El Campo officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Serving, as pallbearers were Julius Ramirez, Joe Ramirez, Louis Ramirez, Jesse Ramirez, Charles Ramirez, Jimmie Ramirez, David Ramirez and Stevie Flores.
