Don Michael Legler

Don Michael Legler, 62, of Wharton, Texas, passed away after beating cancer on Tuesday January 13, 2015, at a Houston hospital following a brief illness. He was born July 21, 1952, in Wharton, Texas to the late Bruno Legler and Edna Piwetz Legler. Don was raised in the Wharton area. He was a graduate of Wharton High School in 1971 and a graduate of Wharton Junior College. He was a transportation manager for Memphis Goodwill Inc in Memphis, TN and worked in Maintenance and Build out for Goodwill Industries assisting with new locations. Don was an avid deer hunter; he enjoyed bow and muzzle loader hunting. His parents preceded him in death. Following cremation memorial services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1 pm at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev Laura Olsen officiating. He is survived by his daughters, Michela Legler and partner Edward Deschene of Moosup, CT, Anna Legler and Jennifer Viscuso of Vernon, CT, son Jacob and Sean Gerace of Plainfield, CT, brothers Victor Legler and wife Barbara of Katy, TX, Larry Legler and wife, Glenda of Wharton, Mark Legler of Wharton and sister, Debra Caston and husband Chris of Lewisville, TX, nieces and nephews Erin Saladino and Wes of New Braunfels, Blake Legler and wife Jenny of Katy, Brian Legler of Columbus, Jay Legler and wife Michelle of Houston, and Katherine Legler of Wharton, Great nephew William Legler and great niece Samantha Legler. Honorary pallbearers were the Wharton High School Class of 1971. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Brighton ARP Church P.O.
