Naomi Jane Lewis

April 27, 1919 — January 17, 2015

Naomi Jane Lewis, age 95 of Hungerford and formerly of Alvin passed away Saturday morning, January 17, 2015 in an Eagle Lake hospital. She was born April 27, 1919 in Palestine, the daughter of the late Homer and Jane Watts. After growing up in Palestine, Jane moved to Houston to marry Harry Young Goudeau and have 2 sons, Harry and Bubba. Jane spent most of her adult life in Alvin, Texas marrying John Robert (Bob) Lewis in 1951. Bob passed away June 14, 1989. Jane belonged to the Heights Baptist Church in Alvin and was very involved in her Bible Class and church activities including organizing many outings for her Bible Class group. Jane was also President of the Home Demonstrations Agent’s Club and spent many hours volunteering at the Alvin Nursing Home. Jane moved to Hungerford after Bob passed away where she attended Abell St. Church of Christ and became very involved with her family spending many hours on the road with Janie Mangum chasing their grandchildren’s football, basketball and baseball games. In recent years she enjoyed being involved with her nine great grandchildren at many birthday parties and family gatherings. In addition to her parents, her husband, Bob and her sisters Dorothy, Ruth and Lucille, precedes Jane in death. Visitation was held on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 1 till 2 pm at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 2 pm at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel with Luke Guthrie, Gerald Donaldson and Sherrell Spears officiating. Interment to follow at 4:15 p.m. at Manvel Cemetery, Hwy 6 at Cemetery Rd, Manvel, TX. Serving, as pallbearers were Greg Goudeau, Robert Goudeau, Michael Goudeau, Jake Goudeau, Kelton Goudeau and Hunter Goudeau. Honorary pallbearers were Tanner Goudeau, Levi Goudeau and Cannon Goudeau. Jane is survived by her sons Harry Y Goudeau and wife Sarah, CL (Bubba) Goudeau and wife Beverly, grandchildren Greg Goudeau and wife Rose Marie, Robert Goudeau and wife Jenifer, Michael Goudeau and wife Shay, Jake Goudeau, great grandchildren Kelton, Levi, Tanner, Gabby, Hunter, Savannah, Cannon, Logan and Reagan Goudeau. The Family would like to express their deep appreciation for the love and care given by Jane's caretakers Mattie Yvonne Greenwood, Beatrice Alvarado and Angelyn Kay Johnson.
