Mrs. Faye Anders Howard, age 97, of Stafford, died Saturday, January 31, 2015 in her daughter’s Missouri City home. She was born on October 22, 1917 in Goose Creek, Texas, near Baytown, to Marcus “Andy” and Ruth Anders. Mrs. Howard was a graduate of Boling High School and attended her higher education at Incarnate Word College in San Antonio where she received her nursing degree. Other than nursing, her other careers included flying for Chicago & Southern Airways as an airline stewardess and making a home for her family in Newgulf and Stafford. On July 5, 1944, she married Joseph Roger Howard, who preceded her in death on July 22, 1966. Her hobbies included a passion for growing beautiful flowers in her many gardens, the challenge of number search and crossword puzzles. As a young woman, she delighted in horseback riding and dancing to Big Band music of the 1930s and ‘40s. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Paul Elton Anders and Douglas Carl Anders. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 4th at 11am at Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. David Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include son, Joseph Roger Howard and wife Sandra Ann of The Woodlands; son, Lawrence Ray Howard of Houston; and daughter, Sharon Kay Howard Davis of Missouri City. Her grandchildren Carol Elaine Howard, Kathleen Nicolle Melbourne, Christopher David Connor, and Charles Craig Davis and great grandchildren Kaytlin Renee Connor and Carson Howard Will also survive.
